Lobby & Reception of Ibrahim Pasha Hotel

The mission is study hotels and resorts, specifically how they function. As an interior designer, I am interest in how people orient themselves within the space and how they transition between spaces: How does spaces change from one to the other? It is also interesting to research what was built on the same grounds before the hotel was built. For example, the Sumahan Hotel was formerly an industrial factory that produces alcohol ([1]), and the Istanbul Four Seasons Hotel near the Topaki Palace is on the old grounds of Sultanahamet's prison ([2]).

The documentation would be done with photographs, sketches, and thorough research.

The first research hotel was done in the Loisium located in Langelois, Austria ([3]), a former wine vineyard. Other hotels and resorts includes the Grand Londra Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey ([4]), Ibrahim Pasha Hotel in Istanbul ([5]), Karinna Hotel/Resort in Bursa, Turkey ([6]), and several hotels located in Berlin, Germany.

So far, I have traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to study the functionality and zoning on hotels and how the transition among each space is being performed. To continue the study, research will be done within Berlin, Germany and Vienna, Austria.
