this is a preliminary explanation of my research. I have as of march 4, 2007 documented and experienced the conditions and circumstances occurring the in the neighborhood of Istanbul called Sulukule. These documentation experiences have opened new ideas on architectural planning and architectural concept to my eyes. The very idea of moving an entire village of 3,500 from one place to another clearly represents the racist and biased opinion that architecture holds in today's design world.
Below is a picture that illustrates the tense state of affairs between Istanbul's Municipality and the actual tenants of Sulukule.
